Cool Ideas for Babies in Summer Sun

Happy 4th of July (belated!).

Summer is in full swing and we are hot! I love being outside, but with my 1-year old it can be tricky in this heat. Here are a few things that have made being outside just heavenly...

1. A play tent - I bought one on diapers.com for $39, but they are available at all major retailers (Target, Walmart, etc).

Not only does it provide the perfect amount of shade,  it is a little hideaway nook that in itself is a fun game for my son. I store a few books, water and puffs in it and can relax in the sun.

2. Roll up blanket - there are a few styles out there, like this one from JJ Colebeach_blanket

It is bright, padded and soft and rolls up easily into the carrying case (most of my friends have this and love it). I got a similar one in store at Target with a fleece inside and water proof material on the outside perfect for wet grass, sand or anywhere. So easy to carry and throw out anywhere for babies to scoot around on or just hang.

3. Sunscreen - I am currently obsessed with Supergoop. I first heard of it on facebook, and then found it at Giggle. It is light and so easy to put on - no caked on cream that doesn't rub in. And so far so good, no burns. It has received an award for sun safety and its mission is to educate parents about harmful chemicals that they expose their kids to. Worth a try!

Enjoy the sun!!
